Lonely hands I see in the darkness
Calling out for help in dumbed silence..!!
A wrinkled one with fingers so lame
Maybe thats of a lonely mother,
Who has been abandoned out of shame!
Another one is a younger one,
I see chipped nails and tired skin!
Those might belong to a helpless wife,
Whose trust has been broken by the one,
Who promised to love her all his life!
I tear my gaze to another pair,
Soft and supple and fair,
Is it a teen's?
Must be so...
The poor girl must have had a heartbreak for sure!
Oh no! What I see now cant be true!
Aren't those the hands of a baby
Lamenting helplessly for her mother..
Who has left her alone to earn better!
Maybe she is not aware
That her little princess goes through hell each day
While she is not around her!
Witnessing this, my heart went out to them,
But as I look at my feet, they have "chains" !
Chains! That bound me to where I stand..
Chains! That are making me restless as moments pass by!
A thought crosses my mind
That I need to break free!
I had to hold their hand and bring them to light..definitely!
They were innocent,
Injustice had been their fate!
I tremble seeing their helpless hands and I decide,
Until I do them justice, I would not lie in rest !
Who am I?? you must be thinking..
I'm no one noble,
Neither a great man!
I reside in each one of you..
Who is ready to fight,
Who wants to bring about changes for good
And stand upright!
I am a voice that you often overshadow..!
In the fear of losing your momentary pleasures,
You let me go..!
You see injustice and keep mum!
But believe me,
You have the potential to rise,
To do things, the meek voice within you wants done!
Don't forget, the troubles you see around and ignore now
Can engulf you too,
Before you even know!
Raise your voices
Oh mankind!
Coz you are humans
And humanity can only define your kind!!
